Match safe slide WWI. Condition is used but working. Made to carry a box of matches inside to keep dry. The outer box is placed on side panels. The inner wooden match safe box is then inserted and worked like a spring loaded drawer. Striker stone is on side built in.

Interesting design and construction. No wooden box inside but the German side panels of the box remain. Nice item for a personal collection of a WWI German field soldier.
