Brummett Echohawk War drawing. Condition original. This is the most exciting drawing I have owned. Found in the bottom of a box recently in a big collection buy. Scene of the battle of Anzio also with the soldiers named. Original Pencil drawn in battle theater. Also I have had it confirmed as a ORIGINAL.
The National Cowboy Museum has a old copy from decades ago but since this original was lost. University of Oklahoma has also verified it. Also comes with the original crappy matting of which he used horse glue to mount. Since detached from board, thank goodness. But it is also provenance of the drawings past sale in his studio. Also has stamp impressed that is unknown in right top.
Brummett is Very famous as a Painter and drawer of Indian scenes in the 1950’s and 60’s. Look also online at https://www.piersongallery.com/brummett-echohawk.html (cut and paste). Now for the rest of the story look at these sites for his time in the 45th division and his drawing in the battlefield.

I am not a art dealer or expert. Condition as seen. Glue hardened on back, small rip, and age. I do also guarantee it original. Also known this may be the ONLY one left in private hands. Also they mentioned out of 39 drawing the museum has about 35 or 36. Others are also unknown to where they are except this one.
Back reads:
“Sgt. Tuffy Stokes, Glencoe. Oklahomans. More replacements. our company is being shot up steadily. Oldmen get hit. Other old men stay in. We wish for a “million-dollar” hit sometimes, because we grow tired, weary, and Anzio is miserable. And it is about as safe in the rear as it is the front. 88’s by day and the Anzio express at night.
The new men come in. We make them tape their names in the helmets. And put a piece of tape with their name on it in their boot. If they get blown in two we can identify them. Anzio is rough. Rougher n hell”.
