WAC SUMMER VISOR CAP TYPE 1.  Early date summer tan WAC visor cap with enlisted eagle.  This type 1 has the buttons with it but have come off.  It has a enlisted disk on the cap but is the same cap used by the officers.  The Disk is the type 2 with the National eagle and not the early “Walking Eagle”.  Excellent conditon with a WAC ID number inside the band.  Original 1942 dated tag is readable inside.  Has typical light wear but in EXCELENNT condition.  No damage and only light soiling from handling as seen.

Known and called the “hobby hat” named after the commander Colonel Oveta Culp Hobby of the WAC program.  These are a tough find in the summer tan variation.  This early variation has the to riveted vent holes in the back. Original chinstrap and comes with the 2 buttons with the early walking eagle in tan wartime plastic. Size 22 tag inside.
