INSIGNIA UNASSIGNED WARRANT OFFICER. This insignia stumped me for a moment.  Brought in by a son of the vet with his Dentist insignia and others. Having the “W” on the front was a mystery until I saw his ranks of Warrant officer included in the small batch of items he had.  He was in the Korean War until about 1959.

Makes sense with the Ballou type clutches have the marks from that era.  This insignia has to be a tougher one to find compaired to the officers ones typically encountered. Excellent condition.
