MG08 Indirect fire optic. Condition MINT. Dated 1934 on the dial. believed to be German manufacture during the period they could not produce self-arms. This device was to produce and aim the Maxim Machine guns in a indirect fire upon enemy troops. Compass and all level bubbles working order. Optics are VERY clear and one of the best I have seen. No carry case.
Protective lid made of painted brass is matching numbers to the dial serial number. Manufacture is a mystery. Would say Carl Zeiss but unknown. Only what I read on one optics sight. Used to seeing his logo on most items. Dove tail on the bottom is to be used for mounting the optics.
Great untouched unissued MINT piece of equipment for the Maxim 08 Machine Gun. MG08 indirect fire. NOTE, The “Ziel” (for target or aim) and “O” for ost (East) are German wording and markings. Does not have rubber eyecup. Do not believe this is Czech either. Would have been in German hands by 1939.
