Sword presentation 1898 MO Captain Healey. This Sword is fully engraved under the clam-shell-cross guards. Many men listed that presented it to him. Also a few were wealthy businessmen of St. Louis at the time. I did not do a lot of research but a photo of him and his men was online and included with this sword.
Excellent overall condition and had been cleaned many many years ago. German manufactured blade for the company also stamped on the blade. Surprisingly a whistle is built into the cross guard. Also the original sword knot and a very overall detailed piece.
Spanish American War era presentation swords are not that common. This great Missouri unit would make a great research project. it also has a Ray skin handle with original brass wrap. Pictured standing on right of troops.
