M1851 Dragoon cap device. DRAGOON AND CAVALRY HAT INSIGNIA. This Insignia was worn by the members of the US Dragoons.  Adopted in 1851, this insignia was worn on hats such has the Hardee and the 1851 pattern caps.  Excellent condition, and wonderful original detail.  All 4 wire prongs remain soldered to the back.

These type and pattern of insignia are very tough to find in this condition.
