Patch 99th Div Reverse Combat Unit WWII Uniform Removed. This was removed by me off an early dress jacket. This is the only one I have had in many years. It has the OD boarder, and the reverse checkerboard variation. This patch starts off with blue field instead of the white square.

These are thought to be factory mistakes.  My study with 5 uniforms show these being worn on the right former combat uniform side.
